Custom Framing at Posterjack
There's bound to be a custom framing store in your city. Custom framing is great. It is also very expensive. Sometimes you just want a high quality frame that looks simple and modern. One that won't look outdated in 10 years. For those times, you need Posterjack.
Yes, this is 2016. Yes, you are shopping on the Internet. Despite that, we took a page out of Henry's book circa 1927. We offer one beautiful frame style in four timeless colors: Rich Black, Alpine White, Espresso Brown, and Light Walnut. All of our components are made in the USA - from the hardwood frame, to the framers acrylic, right down to the crisp-white acid-free mat board.
At Posterjack, we are always making things easy for our customers. So when you order a framed photo from us, it arrives ready to hang. Just take it out of the box, admire it for a few seconds, then hang it on the wall.
Back to the Future
We might do framing like Henry Ford, but we print like the Jetsons. Posterjack's photo-enlargement print quality is the gold standard. Whether you decide you want us to frame your print, or you have it custom framed elsewhere, you can be sure that your photo will be a work of art all on it's own.
Can It Be so Simple?
Yes. Ordering a framed print is so simple at Posterjack that some people get confused. Just scroll back to the top of the screen, pick your size and upload your photo to the shopping cart. No kidding - you'll be hanging your photo on the wall in no time!
Customize Your Image
Sometimes a photo needs a little help to get it looking just the way you want. When you upload a photo, you have the option to crop the image so it’s perfectly composed, add a border choosing from a large variety of different colours and sizes, or even add a creative effect to your photo. Effects options include Black & White, Sepia Tone, Solarize, Pop Art, Charcoal Sketch, and Linocut. Have fun and see what each effect looks like – if you don’t like it, simply click on Original Colour and your photo goes back to how it was before you started.

How long does it take you to produce my Framed Photo?
Posterjack Framed Photos take approximately 3-7 business days to produce. Please note that this is an average time. Because each piece of art is a custom product, production times can vary slightly.

Free image quality check
When you upload a photo to Posterjack, the very first thing we do is take a look at your image resolution, compare it with your chosen print size, and then provide you with a quality score which can be seen immediately after uploading your photo. This free image quality check only takes seconds but ensures you’ll be happy with your Framed Photo – no more second-guessing as to whether or not your photo is suitable for printing in a large format. If your quality score isn’t as high as you would like it to be, you can try switching to a smaller print size. If your quality score is unsuitable, you will not be able to proceed through the checkout process as print results will not meet our high standards and will be considered unacceptable. In this case, please choose either a smaller print size or a photo with a higher resolution. Please feel free to contact customer support for additional help.
What type of file should I upload?
We process the four most common image types. All digital cameras and graphic design programs will produce at least one of these file types. The types we accept are JPEG, TIFF, BMP, & PNG. Our preferred file type is JPEG, which produces excellent print results and efficient file sizes! If your image is in a different format, please save it as one of the above formats before submitting to us.
If you aren't a big color geek, don't worry, your camera produces images in a color space we can handle (typically sRGB). If you prefer you can also upload images in Adobe RGB, or any other popular RGB Color Profile. Please do not upload images in the CMYK color space.
How large of a file can I upload?
You can upload files up to 50 MB in size. Should your images be larger than 50 MB, the best place to start would be checking they are saved in JPEG format (TIFF's generally produce larger file sizes, at no real advantage for print quality). If you need further assistance with file sizing, please contact us for details.
What is a Framed Photo?
A Framed Photo is a ready-to-hang product from Posterjack. Unless you are going to frame photos yourself, this is the best value for custom framing in America. Just upload your image and we will print it and frame it for you. Our contemporary frame selection represents the very latest frame style used in art galleries and favored by interior designers. All of our frames are solid wood and made in the USA. We professionally frame your artwork just like they do in a framing store (we don't use cheap Made-in-China framing kits).
What framing options are available to me?
Framed Photos at Posterjack are a standardized product, so choices are limited to frame size and frame color. You can choose between our six frame sizes, and three frame colors (Black, White, and Natural).
Will part of my image be lost behind the mat?
In order to properly frame your image, 0.25" will go under the mat on all sides. Anything on your image that is at the very edge will be hidden under the mat. Therefore, we do not advise placing text close to the edge, or cropping your photo so tightly that important parts (such as a face) go right to the edge.
What is the size of the mat and mat opening?
The mat size is not standardized. Please see the table below for the exact dimensions of each Framed Photo product.
|Product||Outer Frame||Mat Opening||Print Size|
|14 x 18" Framed Photo||15 x 19"||8 x 12"||8.5 x 12.5"|
|18 x 24" Framed Photo||19 x 25"||12 x 18"||12.5 x 18.5"|
|22 x 30" Framed Photo||23 x 31"||16 x 24"||16.5 x 24.5"|
|18 x 18" Framed Photo||19 x 19"||12 x 12"||12.5 x 12.5"|
|22 x 22" Framed Photo||23 x 23"||16 x 16"||16.5 x 16.5"|
What quality of materials are used in Framed Photos?
We pride ourselves on providing the best framing value in the USA. To do that, we use premium materials. Our frames are solid wood. Our mat board is Crystal White and acid-free. Our framer's acrylic is optically clear and UV inhibiting. We print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308. We archival hinge-mount your print and secure it in place neat and tidy with framer's points.
